What is Hope108?
Hope108 is a grassroots CSR initiative that works with tribal and marginalized farming communities across India to plant trees, restore degraded land, and create sustainable livelihoods. The name comes from the sacred number 108 — the number of farmer families in the founding cohort.
Better Bites channels a portion of every sale toward this initiative — not as a marketing exercise, but as a genuine commitment to the farming communities that make our products possible. We believe that sustainable agriculture and environmental restoration are inseparable from ethical business.
The GreenGrid Program
Better Bites × Hope108 jointly run the GreenGrid Program — a farm-integrated tree-planting initiative that combines reforestation with farmer income enhancement.
Phase 1
Completed
2,500 cashew trees planted across 6 farms in Goa and Kerala. Established baseline environmental metrics and built farmer partnerships.
Phase 2
In Progress
5,000 native trees (neem, peepal, moringa, drumstick) planted on degraded land adjacent to partner farms in Tamil Nadu and Odisha.
Phase 3
2025-26
Target 10,000 trees. Integration with organic certification pathway for 12 small farmers. Scaling to 8 new states.
